Apostle Islands
Half Day Sea Caves Paddle
DAY TRIPS
Established in 1970 the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore encompasses over 700 square miles and 21 islands on the south shore of Lake Superior. The sandstone cliffs and shoreline have been sculpted by waves, wind, and ice to form the many caves, re-entrants and nooks found along the shoreline.
Kayak through one of the highlights of this paddling destination and explore the caves of Apostle Island National Lakeshore with an experienced guide. Our Apostle Islands kayaking trips focus on small groups and giving you the best experience possible.
We launch from Meyers Beach in Bayfield, Wisconsin. Start with a short lesson or review before leaving for a 2.5 hour paddle along the shoreline to enjoy the natural beauty of the park and caves.
WHAT TO KNOW
Meet at the address below on the date and time that you select. If we cannot go out due to weather you have the option for a full refund or to reschedule.
Apostle Islands National Lakeshore
Meyers Rd, Bayfield, WI 54814
There is a $5 self service park fee as you come into the parking lot.
Typically we will wear wet suits depending on the water temperature so bring shorts, tights or a swimsuit to wear underneath them. All the gear and equipment needed is provided, sunglasses as well as a water bottle are suggested. Tandem kayaks are used for stability. We cater toward beginners! Trip sizes are kept small (2-6) for a personalized experience.
Contact us for groups larger than 6. We ask that paddlers are at least 100 lbs and/or 12 years old. In our experience it starts to become difficult to accommodate at about 270 lbs or above as it is hard to maintain stability and balance in the kayak but contact us for more information or body types.

What about bad weather? If we are not able to go out due to weather or if you do not think it would be a good experience (due to rain, cold, etc.) you have the option to either reschedule or have a full refund.
